Happiness in Unity

Kunti is one of the 10 villages selected for People Led Development Process [PLD] of Ghugari block of Mandla district. Majority population of village is tribals; mainly Gonds.   

On 7th Dec.2015, there was community meeting with 29 men, 4 women, and 2 ward members of Panchayat to discuss on water scarcity. During community reflection, villagers have planned out date, time, place, and waterways for water conservation. As per road map, on 9th Dec.2015, 57 men and 21 women have gathered early morning at identified waterways and conserved the water in 6 runnels.

People’s effort has solved the water shortage in community.  It shows happiness of people behind unity. Now people have sufficient water available in community for their basic needs. People have decided to solve other problems in the same way.

Jabalpur Diocesan Social Service Society (JDSSS) is a grass root level society journeying with the rural poor for their self-reliance and dignity in the society. JDSSS is an NGO and the social work wing of the Diocese of Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. It was established in the year 1979 to carry out the social works in the diocese. The society was registered on 19th November, 1993 under the “Society Registration Act 1973. JDSSS's work is concentrated in the fields of Education, Health and Community Development which we believe are inter-related fields to make a sustainable and impactful difference in the beneficiary population.
